HighriseYou’ve heard us talking about 4.0 for almost a year. We’re gearing up for some exciting changes - here’s what to expect for our transition phase over the next few months. 🙏 💡 WHAT IS IT?! Highrise 4.0 is our new game engine built in Unity. Our team of 20+ engineers have totally rebuilt Highrise in its entirety using a more sophisticated coding language. This will allow us to build deeper features, and you to build richer experiences in the future. 🙅 WHAT IT IS NOT A different game! Highrise will essentially keep chugging along, with regular events, Concepts, and Room Spotlights; especially for the first few months. This is to give our devs time to optimize the engine’s performance in a live environment, ensuring that our millions of players are supported in a smooth, bug-free experience - and we need you in our corner to achieve it. As we arrive at a stable product throughout this chapter, join in the bug-hunting effort by visiting us on Discord! Throw any odd behaviors you find in the infant 4.0 app into our #4.0-feedback channel. Here’s the link to join Discord: https://discord.gg/highrise ➡️ HOW ARE WE MAKING THE TRANSITION? Slowly! Starting with Android, we’ll begin rolling out 4.0 next week, with the iOS rollout following around two weeks later. A “rollout” means that we’ll make the update available to more and more people at small, incremental phases. If you have updates automatically enabled through the App Store or Google Play Store, your Highrise app will download the newest 4.0 version as soon as it’s available. 🔥 WHAT’S CHANGING? 4.0 paves the way for a ton features that have us buzzing: 3D environments (not 3D avatars!), Worldbuilder for mini games and custom events, Highrise Ideas, and so much more. These projects are on the horizon, but won’t be available until we get the Unity engine fully live and thriving. Additionally, some of our current features will be on pause for a while: - Black Market - SkyPass - Tip Jars - Pawning - Storefronts And don’t worry: we will refund those purchased storefront slots and tip jars. As for the other features, stay tuned as we release more details for their future versions in the upcoming weeks.
