:wrench: IN 4.28.0 (NEXT CLIENT UPDATE)

The next client release is in QA now. Here’s what’s coming and why it matters:

  • Crews v2 :handshake: — A full Crews overhaul. The new Crew Discovery Hub lets you browse with filters, see personalized recommendations, check rankings, or opt in as a Free Agent so crews can find you.

    • Trophies & Seasons: crews earn trophies from event leaderboard placement across monthly seasons (~4 events each), with all-time trophy history on your crew profile.
    • Crew Identity & Feed: every crew gets a full public profile with stats, emblem editor, crew colors, an active rooms list (one tap to jump in), a posts feed for announcements, and an activity log.
    • Crew Management: leaders can create custom roles with specific permissions, set crew terms new members must accept, and configure event minimums; members who contribute above threshold during events get kick protection, and you can apply to other crews privately while still in your current one.
    • Why: finding the right crew was hard and crew identity felt thin. This v2 makes Crews a real social anchor — easier to find, easier to recognize, easier to run.
  • Revamped Event Progression Track :checkered_flag: — A refreshed take on how event progression looks and reads in-game.

    • Why: the old track wasn’t communicating clearly enough what you were earning and when. The redesign makes your rewards, your tier, and what’s left to unlock easier to scan at a glance.
  • Bundle size reduction :package: — Smaller download and install size for the app.

    • Why: faster first-time installs, less storage used on your phone, and a smoother experience on lower-end Android devices.
  • TapJoy and Fyber offerwalls removed :broom: — These specific third-party offerwalls are being retired because they were unreliable and inconsistent. We’ll be replacing them with others soon.

    • Why: they cluttered the store with low-quality offers; pulling them gives us a cleaner store experience to build better, more player-friendly options on top of.
  • Pets are now Pals :paw_prints: — A global rename across the app from “Pet(s)” to “Pal(s)”.

    • Why: “Pal” better captures what they actually are in Highrise: companions that hang out with you, not just pets to be kept. The new name fits the relationship.
  • Updated avatar preview :mirror: — A refreshed avatar preview UI.

    • Why: the old preview made it hard to actually see what your outfit looked like before committing; the new one gives you a clearer read on the full look.
  • Server-side auto-translation settings :globe_with_meridians: (in progress) — Your auto-translate preference moves from being stored on the device to being stored on the server.

    • Why: right now if you switch phones or reinstall, you have to set this again. Server-side means it follows you everywhere.

:speech_balloon: YOUR FEEDBACK

  • Free-to-play progression — We hear you, especially those of you who have been here for years. Losing the event-item-to-thread conversion path hit hard, and that signal is coming through clearly. We’re making it so event track items are recyclable for threads until the end of the event. Stay tuned for more updates!

  • Accidental spending and grab confirmation — Some of you have been charged for a grab without a confirmation step, and the value of gold packs relative to duplicate returns is a real concern. Our support team is actively looking into these concerns.

  • Crashes and stability — Room-join crashes and home decoration bugs are showing up consistently in reviews, with Android performance on lower-end devices called out specifically. The next client update addresses several related issues, and stability stays on our active list.
