We’re thrilled to introduce the Brush & Byte Game Jam , sponsored by Creature Club! Whether you want to create an interactive game or a chill hangout spot, this is your chance to showcase your creativity.

What is a Game Jam?

A game jam is a fun event where you create a game within a limited time. For this jam, you’ll use Highrise Studio to design simple 2D rooms.

How it Works

It’s easy! Just drag and drop your art to build unique spaces. Submit your entry – it can take less than 10 minutes. We’ll provide step-by-step video tutorials to help you get started. If you’re not technically savvy, you can team up with someone who is and focus on the art. Find collaborators in the #studio-chat channel on Discord.

Theme

Create your world using the “2D Platformer” template in HR Studio, then replace the art with your own creations. That’s all you need to do to submit your entry! You can also rearrange elements, add more layers, or make any modifications you like. The only rule is that it must be a 2D platformer world.

Prizes

Everyone who participates will win exclusive Creature Club items just for submitting an entry! There are several categories to win top prizes, with each category awarding a special Creature Club pet:

• Creativity: The most original and imaginative design.
• Interactivity: The room with the best interactive elements.
• Best Hangout Spot: The most inviting and fun place to hang out.
• Technical Excellence: The most technically impressive creation.
• Creature Club’s Choice: Voted by Creature Club members for their favorite entry.

Additionally, we’ll be introducing achievements you can unlock to earn extra rewards. Completing specific tasks or reaching certain goals within the game jam can unlock even more exclusive items.

Rules

1. Your entry must be a 2D platformer world.
2. You must use Highrise Studio for your creation.
3. Collaborations are allowed and encouraged.
4. Submissions must be original work created for this game jam.

Submission Instructions

1. Create your world using the “2D Platformer” template in HR Studio.
2. Replace the art with your own creations.
3. Rearrange elements, add layers, or make any modifications you like.
4. If collaborating with others, fill in this form to distribute the prizes among all creators involved.
5. When submitting the world, make sure you include the hashtag “hcc.” Not including it will disqualify the entry.

• Game Jam Start Date: 6 July, 11:59PM EST
• Submission Deadline: 3 weeks from today, 27 July, 11:59 PM EST
